Alex Victor D’Meza
This enthusiastic and optimistic Haitian entrepreneur landed his first job by the young age of 19 when he became a father. Two years later, he decides to put his studies in Business Administration on hold to start his own company of importation & logistics.
He made his major encounter with “new technologies” when he collaborated with Digicel to help implement their telecommunications network back in 2005.
He also worked in the construction industry where he participated as the Procurement Manager for one of the biggest and most challenging construction projects in Haiti: The Marriott Hotel.
In 2008, he moved to Bolivia and opened a transportation company working with international partners in lumber production.
His bimonthly trips in the Amazonian jungle got him very close to nature which explains his special interest in projects surrounding the reforestation of Haiti.
The young philanthropist does not hesitate to leave everything behind in 2010 when he is offered to come back home and help with the earthquake emergency response through renowned NGO, GOAL.
Alex is now a Managing Partner at Unico S.A., a uniform company with international standard capability. Unico produces branded products: polos, t-shirts, caps, school wear, sportswear, promotional/advertising material and corporate gifts. Unico not only has the biggest embroidery capacity in Haiti but is also a leader in this industry!
